PRESERVATION
|
The preservation work is directed to support those indigenous groups that have not lost their identity and customs, but that begins to integrate themselves in other scopes. Like result of this social integration, in different places apart from their main establishments, many indigenous groups find difficulties to continue with their traditions, because they are not well accepted in the new place of residence or because the distance with their origins causes a spacing, and even a distortion of their customs.

The Yaquis communities that have settle in the city of Hermosillo conserve their identity as Yaquis perfectly, and the are proud of it. Nevertheless, the difficulty to go to their places of origin for the traditional celebrations, the distance with their towns and the necessity, mainly of the youngest people, to integrate themselves in the life of the city are the reasons for the variation in some of their traditions. |
